Important Contract Information (Required Reading)

Please proceed only after you have fully understood the contents.

 

Basic Services: Data, Voice Calls, and SMS Messaging

■ Service Details

This service provides mobile data, voice calling, and SMS (Short Message Service) using a Japanese phone number.

🌐 Data
High-speed internet for web browsing, video streaming, and social media.
📞 Voice Calls
Supports making and receiving calls using 070, 080, or 090 prefixes.
💬 SMS
Send and receive text messages using your mobile number.

■ Important Notes Regarding Service Fees

  • The monthly fee includes data usage only.
  • Incoming domestic voice calls and domestic SMS are free of charge.
  • Charges apply to outgoing voice calls and SMS messages, which will be billed three months after the month in which the service was used.
  • Call service (domestic) and SMS service (domestic or international) will be separately calculated and billed based on your actual usage.

■ [IMPORTANT] Payment and Credit Card Setup for Call Charges

Please register your credit card information to cover future charges for domestic voice calls and SMS.

Billing Date: The 10th of every month (next business day if a holiday).

Charges for voice/SMS will be billed three months after the usage month.

A billing admin fee of 154 yen (tax-in) will be added from the 2nd installment.

If payment fails (expired card, limit exceeded, etc.), service may be suspended or cancelled.

Service Restrictions

⚠️ Important  Note
SIM-Locked Devices

This service only works on SIM-free (unlocked) devices. Please ensure your device is unlocked in advance.

International Calls

International calling functionality is not available with this SIM.

Tethering

Tethering (Personal Hotspot) for sharing data with other devices is not supported.

MNP (Porting Out)

MNP reservation numbers cannot be issued for porting your number to other carriers.

Changing SIM Types

Switching between Physical SIM and eSIM while keeping the same number is not possible.

■ eSIM Important Notes

eSIM provides high flexibility; however, it is subject to certain critical restrictions. Ensure you have read and understood these terms prior to applying.

1. Check eSIM Compatible Devices

While eSIM adoption is growing, compatibility is not universal across all devices.

⚠️ Please verify that your smartphone supports eSIM before registering.

2. Managing the eSIM Profile (QR Code)

We will provide you with a QR code to install your eSIM. Please note the following:

  • ❌ Valid for Single Use Only: This QR code can be used only once.
  • ❌ No Re-installation/Transfer: Once installed, the code cannot be used again on any device.

3. Device Changes and Re-issuance

If you change your smartphone, your existing eSIM cannot be transferred directly. You will need to issue a new eSIM profile.

● Phone Number: Remains the same
● Service Status:

Calls and data will be completely unavailable during the process.

● Processing Time:

It typically takes 10 to 14 days to issue a new QR code.


Network Quality and Data Communication

■ Connection Speed and Service Area

● Best Effort Service
This service is provided on a "best-effort" basis. Actual communication speeds may vary depending on your location, the time of day, and network congestion.

● Bandwidth Control for Network Congestion Avoidance
To ensure fair communication quality for all customers, bandwidth control (speed restriction) will be implemented during the following peak hours:
Restricted Hours: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM / 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Midnight)

■ Regarding the Tethering Function

The Sun-Net SIM does not support the tethering function (Personal Hotspot) for sharing data with other devices.

■ Data Limit and Speed Throttling

If you exceed your monthly data allowance, your connection speed will be limited to a maximum of 128kbps.

  • Service during restriction: While you can still send and receive text messages, this speed is not suitable for watching videos or browsing image-heavy websites.
  • Restoration: Your normal data speed will be automatically restored on the 1st day of the following month.

■ Data Capacity Management and Plan Changes

  • Data Rollover: Unused data cannot be carried over to the next month. Any remaining data at the end of the month will expire.
  • Plan Changes and Data Top-up: Please be advised that monthly data plan changes and additional data top-ups are currently unavailable.

Handling of Overdue Payments

Please be advised that failure to confirm payment will result in service suspension or contract termination.

■ Late Payment Fees and Service Suspension

If payment is not confirmed by the due date, a late payment fee (prescribed by our company) will be charged. Furthermore, if the non-payment status continues for a certain period, we may temporarily suspend all or part of your SIM services.

■ Service Restoration

To restore suspended services, all of the following conditions must be met:

1. Full settlement of the outstanding balance
2. Payment of the Reconnection Fee: ¥1,320 (tax-in)

After payment is confirmed, it may take approximately 1 to 3 business days for the service to be restored.

■ Regarding Contract Termination

If you fail to respond or take action within the specified deadline regarding our payment reminders, or if it is determined that there is no intent to pay, we may be forced to carry out a contract termination.

Important consequences of termination:

  • You are required to settle all outstanding balances even after termination.
  • The terminated SIM card cannot be restored.
  • Continuing service requires a new SIM application, which will result in a change to your phone number.

Procedures for Continuing Service (Contract Extension)

This service does not renew automatically. Upon the expiration of your contract period, the service will be automatically terminated (cancelled).

If you wish to continue using the service, please ensure you complete the contract extension procedures within the specified deadline.

■ How to Apply for a Contract Extension

If you wish to extend your service, please complete the contract extension procedures via our official website at least one month before your contract expires.

■ Important Notes Regarding Non-Renewal

If we cannot confirm your contract extension within the specified period, your current SIM card will become completely unusable after the contract expiration date.

If you wish to use the service again after termination, it will be treated as a "New Application" with the following conditions:

  • New Administrative Fee: A separate SIM card issuance fee of ¥3,300 (including tax) will be charged.
    *An additional shipping fee applies for physical SIM delivery.
  • Phone Number Change: You will not be able to keep your current phone number. A new number will be assigned.
  • SIM Delivery Lead Time: There will be a period of several days without communication service while the new SIM is being processed and delivered.

Restoring service after contract expiration is processed as a "New Contract" for administrative purposes. It is strictly impossible to transfer or carry over any previous usage data or settings.

Please ensure that you complete the contract extension procedures within the specified deadline to avoid service interruption.

Procedures for Continuing Service (Contract Extension)

■ Cancellation Procedures

● Automatic Expiration

The contract will automatically terminate at the end of your original subscription period. No cancellation procedures are required, and no cancellation fees will be charged.

● Early Termination

If you wish to cancel before the end of your contract, please complete the process via our official website at least one month prior to your desired cancellation month.

■ Regarding the Initial Contract Cancellation

You may cancel this contract in writing within 8 days, starting from the day you receive the contract documents (Opening of Service Notice).

  • Cancellation Fees: If you cancel within the 8-day period, no contract termination penalties (such as cancellation administrative fees) will be charged.
  • Customer Responsibilities: You are still responsible for and must pay the following fees incurred up to the date of cancellation:
    • Service usage fees (data communication, voice calls, etc.)
    • Initial fee
